How to determine what an oil company means when it says it's drilling discharge is "not too toxic"

Option #1:  Are you the CEO of the oil company? Then the meaning is, "you will make a whole bunch of money...don't worry, be happy, mon."

Option #2: Do you live near the oil well the company is drilling? Then the meaning is, "you will probably get cancer."
